    Question Using Google Analytics

    Hi

    Ive very excited about this product at last I can get some insight into users behaviour etc.

    Heres my question: I originally inserted the tracking code~
    <script src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" type="text/javascript">
    </script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    _uacct = "UA-1022282-1";
    urchinTracker();
    </script>

    into http://www.york.ac.uk/univ/conf/ last night. Very happy this morning to see data have been harvested.

    Now I'd like to get data from the other associated pages. I inserted the code into a template (Dreamweaver) so its cascaded down into all the other pages i want to track. Will this be OK? Will the Google Analytics give me stats now on the individual pages i put the code into?

    I know I'll have to wait but I'm concerned importing the code via a Dreamweaver template will make it invisible. Am I worrying about nothing? I'm hoping that when I log into Google Analytics tomorrow morning I'll have individual stats on all the pages and not just the index page.

    Pologies for the wax lyrical but in a nutshell i want data on all the pages individually and not just the index page.

    Any thoughts welcome.

    evening, but this wasn't it-

    Yes, unless dreamweaver messes it up.

    Most people nowadays use some sort of include and as such only need to put their code in the footer include to have it show on every page.

    I agree. I always use it in an include file in the footer to track all the pages of a site.

    Ive now got Google Analytics up and running

    Apart from the online user tips google offers does anyone know of a book they could recommend that really digs into google analytics?

    There's one called google analytics, with so-so reviews, among others.
