    CMS recommendation for *small* site?

Can anyone recommend an open source, free, php/mysql based cms for a small site? we are talking less than 10 pages in 3-4 categories but easy updating and altering of content is required. the look should be easy to change using xhtml templates and css - 100% customisation of the look and feel is required.

cms matrix has over 600 scripts but i dont know where to start. im familiar with the common blogging scripts and the more complex ones like joomla etc

    thanks!

I like Etomite for small sites such as protfolios and such.
It has easy wysiwyg editing as well which clients find easy to use.

But as cmuench said, try some out on opensourcecms first and see which one you like best. Etomite is on there if you want to try it

I use Joomla for small or large. The fact that there is a good development team behind it, the add-ons (mods) to choose from, you can't go wrong.

Constantly I hear that joomla is too heavy weight for a small website. I disagree -

These are three sites I am just completing - I am not sure about the gallery script yet, but hey, I have 20 to choose from if I'm not happy:

    www.regencyhomes.com.au
    www.kumisto.com
    www.naturawood.com.au

They are easy to train staff to use as well and I have 20 commercial websites that I have created for clients during the last year.

    www.drupal.org

drupal once installed is pretty simple, creating content is made quite simplistic,

create a page for static page, and a story for article type / new type content, i.e. title, teaser, content

im moving from joomla to it because once i get the vbulletin link up and running , i'll have a simple main page when new and simple content pages can be created quickly, i just find joomla overkill for what i need though more than capable

the site i'm going to use that on will be around 2000 members, not massive, but has its moments
