    Firefox / IE print results in crash?

    Hi all!

    I got a little problem that seems a bit too much for me alone. I've done most of the testing I could and I'm now turning to you, experts...

    When I try to print a certain page of the website www.laurierduvallon.com, FireFox and Internet Explorer both crashes. But Safari doesn't crash! Here are the test pages for you to test (be carefull, if it's written that it'll crash, you've been warned!)

    6 blocks
    http://www.laurierduvallon.com/fr/te...ression43.html
    Print = crash

    5 blocks
    http://www.laurierduvallon.com/fr/te...ression44.html
    Print = ok

    6 blocks without any CSS:
    http://www.laurierduvallon.com/fr/te...ression45.html
    Print = ok

    So I think it must be the CSS that is causing the crash. Anyone has any idea please?

    Thanks a lot for your help.

    Doesn't crash for me. Have you tried another machine?

    Yes. The client told me it was crashing on his side. Which browser / version / OS are you using?

    Firefox 1.5.0.8, Mac OS 10.3.9 here, and the URL below crashes Firefox.

    And you really tried that link right?

    Here's some progress.

    It's clearly a CSS problem. Must be because FF/IE can't cut the big div while trying to render the page to print. I seperated the CSS and made an empty media="print" one and it's not crashing anymore. I then made a media="print" CSS and I've cut down the problem to those CSS:

    /* start of group1 */
    .divzonepromotion
    {
    border: 1px solid #e5e5e5;
    float: left;
    padding: 2px 2px 2px 2px;
    margin: 0px 0px 15px 0px;
    width: 463px;
    }

    .imgfiletseppromo
    {
    margin: 0px 0px 10px 0px;
    }

    .divbaspromo
    {
    float: left;
    margin: 4px 0px 0px 0px;
    text-align: right;
    width: 439px;
    }

    /* end of group 1*/

    /* start of group 2*/
    .divpromo
    {
    float: left;
    padding: 0px 10px 0px 10px;
    width: 439px;
    }

    .divzonepromotion .divcol1
    {
    float: left;
    width: 225px;
    }

    .divzonepromotion .divcol2
    {
    float: right;
    margin: 20px 0px 0px 0px;
    width: 175px;
    }
    /* end of group 2*/

    I realised that the group1 and group2 can't be together in a media="print" CSS file. It crashes. But alone, either group 1 or group 2 doesn't make the page crash.

    Do you see anything not right in these CSS?

    Thanks.

    I'm using Firefox, Mac OS X 10.4.8, Firefox and Safari.

    I tested it in both....

    Update
    It's started crashing for me in Firefox! Safari is OK though.

    I can't see anything wrong with that CSS, I wasn't even aware CSS could make a browser crash. How odd.

    Wow... what a day...

    I finally remade the whole CSS of the square. And it worked... weird. Removed some floats that were not neccessary.

    Feel free to test and tell me if it's now ok...

    Thanks for your help RichardHenry!
