    Cookies and bots

    Hi guys.

I might have posted this in the wrong forum, if so I sincerely apologize.

I have a question about cookies and bots and how to work around it.

We recently built a site which has a disclaimer page that sets a cookie to enter the site. Unfortunately it seems Google and all the others aren't getting past that page.

Is there an easy way to work around this? The site is built in php. Has anyone run into the same problem and if so, how did you solve it?
    Regards,

Bots can't accept cookies so if your site relies on them you are essentially blocking your site from the search engines. Don't make cookies are requirement for any pages that a user doesn't need to be logged in for or otherwise tracked.

So what would be a suitable pseudo code????

    If cookie empty
    request user agent

If user agent = Google, Yahoo, Altavista

Let them in without the cookie

    else

Send them to the cookie required explanation page

    Does that make sense??
