    picture size check and upload

    hello

I am developing a dating website mainly in php mysql. I am using Javascript for form validation. I dont want to give the load to the server side.

You know...we need to give the user a form that can upload picture. We can check the size and its dimension or type by php but I dont want it in php. I want it in javascript first then redirect to a server side page.

Can anyone help me in this problem??? i tried some example from net but i failed. So any help will be realy helpful

    thanks

It is possible, but the solution is IE only and requires ActiveX to be enabled.

This will not be possible to do in other browsers. Also note that ActiveX is disabled by default in IE 7 due to security reasons. So I would recommend you to do this check on the back-end.
