    Account closed by VCM, legimate?

One of my VCM account was closed last Friday (without any notice). Today I received the reason why (after asking them), they stated my site breached their ToS. I own an abandonware site, and it was personally reviewed and accepted into their network almost a year ago. At the time I was accepted into their network untill now the site stayed unchanged during that entire period (no new/extra games whatsoever).

I'm not sure whether or not they plan on paying me the revenue I accumulated in October, and during the month November untill the moment they closed the account. They clearly reviewed my site and were ok with it, can they now all of sudden kick me out of there network for a reason that they should've mentioned before even accepting me into their network in the first place?

I received October payment today, guess they will pay me for November too.

However I'm still hoping to get back into the network.

    edit: guess not

    Thank you for your reply.

Due to our advertiser’s request, we are reviewing existing sites in our
network for possible closure. Please note that there is nothing wrong with
your site nor are you being singled out. Any revenue generated up until Nov.
17, 2006 will be paid out as normal. This decision has been difficult to make
and we apologize for this inconvenience.
This is a good thing though for the network overall, quality of sites that got in the network lately was astonishing (not saying that my site is ). I hope this means better fill rate for my other sites.

that's pretty lame. Although I don't for a second believe "Due to our advertiser’s request". Their advertisers, while paying higher rates than a lot of networks, are pretty much bottom feeders. Looking through all the ads in my account, 99% of them are just generic landing pages. The same ads being run through almost every other network

lol, oddly enough I just got home and checked my email and got this from VC

    Dear ValueClick Publisher,

Due to current industry concern over the questionable legality regarding
owning or promoting "Roms" and/or emulation software, ValueClick Media is no
longer allowing "ROM/Emulator" web sites on the ValueClick Media Display
    Advertising Network.

Your site account for XXXXXXXXXX has been removed from the
network. Please remove all ValueClick Media banner code on the site as soon
as possible. Any unpaid revenue, over the payment minimum, will be paid out
    to you.
now for the funny part. Not only does the site NOT have a single ROM or any emulation software. It diesn't even have a single game on it. The site has nothing to do with games what so ever

Be careful what you say about networks on here, I complained about FastClick a year or so ago and the website that I was running at the time was coincidentally suspended the following day for under performing. That website, had been displaying their ads for years up till that point.

yup, I just took the ads off. Burst and Casale and BannerConnect were doing better anyhow.

That's actually the 3rd network I have used that has closed my account within hours of making a nagative comment on here or GeekVillage.

Personally I don't care. If I made a negative comment about them, there was a reason, and I would be close to dropping them to begin with

Although it's pretty shaddy sending me an email claiming they are closing my account for something I never did.

I'd recommend using less well known or private forums to comment more openly... it's just one of the many reasons I don't use Sitepoint's forums as much as I used to.

Well, my site's still with them and I trust them more than the fly-by-night others I've used, so I'm sticking with them.

Never had a problem with ValueClick Media. When I had a problem, just contacted my account rep; which has changed over the years.
