    DMOZ does not like me?

I have submitted my site about 2-3 times, at intervals of about 2 months to Dmoz, but it does not seem to get listed? Just wondering, what could be the possible causes for this, and how long dos it usually take to get listed?

    Ash

That's how it goes with DMOZ. You may years or never even get listed. All you can do is submit it and forget about it.

Does the category you submitted to have an editor? Have you considered becoming an editor yourself?

And BTW, No editors have been able to access the DMOZ editor console for almost a month now.

    Hi,

Is it actually possible to find out, if there is an editor for that particular category?

    Thanks

It will say so at the bottom of the page.

If it says "Volunteer to edit this category" at the bottom of the page, it has no editor. There can also be more than one editor per category.

Everytime you resubmit your site you put yourself back to the bottom of the review list.

Maybe you got close to the top a few times and pushed yourself back down by resubmitting.

But the editor probably isn't doing anything in the category or there is no editor is the more likely scenario.

Are you suggesting that re-submitting is a bad idea? Because that is quite an interesting opinion, as the popular opinions seems to be that you should keep re-submitting at regular intervals. ?

No. Once your submit your request is in the queue. It's there. You are just wasting your time resubmitting.

Correct. Resubmitting at Dmoz is a bad idea. Submit it and forget it. Or apply to be an editor.

The "popular" opinion is often wrong. I'd rather deal with the "informed" opinion myself
