    tab won't work in IE6.0

    on this site , the horizontal navigation tabs won't work for IE. They work fine in FF.

    The thing is, the client wanted me to use those tabs because that is what he created for his main site here. So, he wanted both the blog and the site to look alike down to the tee. This includes the bloated table based navigation tabs.

    My original plan was to create these tabs out of CSS but I was having control and positioning issues. That's another story for another time.

    So my question is if there is a way to get this working in IE for now?

    Here is what the bloated table based code looks like for those tabs;

    Code:
     	<div id="top-nav">
     		<ul id="navlist">
     		<table width="737" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="10" cellspacing="0">
     	<tr>
     		<td valign="top"><img src="/images/bannertab.gif" width="707" height="29" border="0" align="top" usemap="bannertab"></td>
     	</tr>
     </table>

      <map name="bannertab">
     			<area shape="rect" coords="571,7,673,32" href="http://www.website-copy-writing.com/contact.html">
     			<area shape="rect" coords="463,7,565,32" href="http://www.website-copy-writing.com/about.html">
     			<area shape="rect" coords="355,7,457,32" href="http://www.website-copy-writing.com/services.html">
     			<area shape="rect" coords="247,7,349,32" href="http://www.website-copy-writing.com/system.html">
     			<area shape="rect" coords="138,7,240,32" href="http://www.website-copy-writing.com/clients.html">
     	<area shape="rect" coords="30,8,133,27" href="http://www.website-copy-writing.com/index.html">
     </map>

     		</ul>
     	</div>

    Code:
      <img src="http://www.website-copy-writing.com/images/bannertab.gif" width="707" height="29" usemap="#bannertab">
    usemap should have # in front of the value. A couple of comments though: your HTML can be like this:

    Code:
     <img src="http://www.website-copy-writing.com/images/bannertab.gif" width="707" height="29" usemap="#bannertab">
      <map name="bannertab">
     			<area shape="rect" coords="571,7,673,32" href="http://www.website-copy-writing.com/contact.html">
     			<area shape="rect" coords="463,7,565,32" href="http://www.website-copy-writing.com/about.html">
     			<area shape="rect" coords="355,7,457,32" href="http://www.website-copy-writing.com/services.html">
     			<area shape="rect" coords="247,7,349,32" href="http://www.website-copy-writing.com/system.html">
     			<area shape="rect" coords="138,7,240,32" href="http://www.website-copy-writing.com/clients.html">
     	<area shape="rect" coords="30,8,133,27" href="http://www.website-copy-writing.com/index.html">
     </map>
    You don't need to add the table as well. Also, you need to take out <ul id="navlist"> because you can't have a list without any list items in it.
