    http referrer question

    Hello, I was told you could use http referrer commands with javascript sometimes. When I looked up http referrer all the explanations made my head spin. Don't understand them. Can someone try to tell me simply what http referrer commands do? Thank you very much.

    In JavaScript, document.referrer is defined for you as the URL of the page the user reached the current page through (usually by clicking a link or submitting a form). It is empty if the page was accessed directly through a bookmark or typing the URL.

    Code:
    document.write(document.referrer);
