    Alexa traffic page not responding?

    Hello,

Has anyone noticed that Alexa's traffic page is not responding today? The toolbar is also incredibly sluggish and inconsistent with performance.

Anyone heard what's up? Not good timing for me, since I just sent some important people a link there.

    Let me know,

I cannot see how people find Alexa useful as it is only a sample of people who use the Alexa toolbar, what pages they visit.

so why u guys visit alexa? lol

I assume those people are simply foolish who says alexa is useless. Have you ever heared of a survey conducted by some institute on a "sample" of people and they assume that its true for remaining sample of peoples too, upto some accuracy.

    Its the same thing guys.

Everyone of you trust alexa someway, but dont stop saying that its useless. Will you buy a website reporting 5k uniques a day and 5,000,000 alexa rank?

I know its easy to cheat alexa but it doesnt mean you simply declare them useless.

Alexa is not fool-proof but I think it's a valuable tool to gauge your own SEO efforts. Relying on Alexa rankings to buy advertising on another site is more risky because the rankings can be easily manipulated. From my own experience with the Alexa toolbar, you can achieve a 400,000 rank on Alexa simply by surfing your own site with the toolbar activated. There are more sophisticated methods to achieve much lower rankings.

For almost 1 week, my alexa rank is not updating. Last updation I found was last Tuesday, but until today it was still the same as before.

It was said they will update it every 3 days, but what's happened this time?

I am not sure, But I think they update higher ranked sites more frequently. May be your one is not high ranked.
