If you are talking about how the main page for the forums has the Highlighted Posts and whatnot...I don't like them.
I know I am going to be in the minority here, but I really just prefer the normal index page. In fact, that is the page I have bookmarked on here as a means of avoiding the main page.

bascailly i think there home page is kinda like a portal with loads of extras added into it as well as custom coding.
I actually agree with you on this. The main page is a bit too 'random' for me and I know this site is highly successful, just adding my personal opinion.Originally Posted by cmr924

It's a mixture of vBulletin, Editize and custom (in-house?) programming / integration. I don't know of any other 3rd party applications used for SP other than vBulletin and Editize. The SP Marketplace & Contests section I believe are custom and integrated into the vBulletin forum software. My guess is that the other applications integrate into the vB user database and may or may not use their own databases for app specific content. Probably just the vB database for everything. I don't recall SP ever disclosing exactly how they developed the site, so everything beyond vB & Editize is just speculation on my part.Originally Posted by Clickngo
