    css menu not displayed over flash?

    Ok very odd and I am not quite sure how to go about resolving it, I finally got my drop down CSS menu to work on this site but in the home page you can only see 1 of the drop downs cos they hide behind the flash on those pages!

    now I can assign a z-index to the flash items but that doesn't seem to work

    any ideas?

    Thanks

    We have a Project 7 menu running over Flash at http:www.informatiq.co.uk - just check out the source. For yourinfo though (unless the other posts addressed this already) we did find with this solution though that Mac browsers still suffered, so eventually took the decision to sniff for Mac OS and display a GIF to Mac users.

    Nice alteration of ZenCart!

    Site looks good.

    Hmmm, not sure how helpful I will be for fixing your menu though... I am more used to something like the Suckerfish setup... Looking through source now.

    Looks like (in IE7) the Flash bit is working properly... Though I am not sure why the third item is missing. I will look it over (as I am sure others will), but you might get the most help if you start a new thread.

    If you find that there is a problem with the Flash bit, please let me know.

    HI Sarah,

    Try adding this to make ie7 recognise the true position:

    Code:
    #menu ul ul {
    position: absolute;
    z-index: 500;
    top:34px;
    left:0;
    }
    Hope it helps.

    Lol, is it just me, or did that thread disappear?

    Lol, I feel like a noob... I just do not see it in my list subscriptions (thought I subscribed.) I did a search through the Flash forums with not much luck.

    Anyone?

    I went to look for the thread the other day but it seems Sarah forgot to sticky it and I found it some pages back so I added it to the other thread as they all seemed pertinent.

    Sorry if it confused you

    Oh, no, all is fine.

    I was just worried that it got deleted accidentally... but I am glad to see it added to that thread... I probably should have done that to begin with.

    Thanks Paul, appreciate the help.

    Have a great winter all.
    Cheers,
    Micky
