Is "he" failing?
I know a worker who was hired to re-design a website four weeks ago. He is strong in flash, and front end design. But he is not a back end designer.
He has been struggeling with CSS (he is knew to it)....
The whole team is slow. The website has to be up in 25 days. The dreamweaver design he did was good, so he thought.
Now they told him to just stick to flash... they got someone else in to re-design what he did in some Mombo software. It's new to him.
He feels like a failure. Wasn't the work he did good enough? How should he go about asking his project leader about this?

If they take something away from you odds are it's because you're not performing up to snuff.
There's not much to ask about, he just needs to keep practicing and working on his other skills.

He should definitely go and ask for feedback... not knowing where you went wrong is an awful feeling. Plus, it would help to know what he needs to focus on.

This Designer asked about the transition in duties today. He just plain asked "did I screw up with the dreamweaver" this morning to the man in charge. The man in charge told him he did not screw up. They were going to give this new programmer his designs to work on. They had an eye on this guy for a while and finally got him in to work. It's not as if they scrapped "this designers" work and gave it to someone else.
