Ajax, IE, and caching

Has anyone run into problems with IE and page caching?

The script I am working on sends the same form data to a PHP page and then returns the value to the script. When the form data is the same or the results are the same, IE doesnt update the page at all. Anyone have any suggestions to fix this? I tried adding some meta tags to prevent caching the page but that doesn't seem to work.

Why not send a random number along in the query string as a parameter? That might help...

Tried that and still has the same result.

Before

http.open("GET", url + escape(message), true);

After

http.open("POST", url + escape(message), true);

And it works. How strange.
