Blogging and Pinging

Howsy folks,

I've got a question in regards to blogging and pinging. This may be the best place or it may not but I'll give it a shot.

Basically I'm looking at the concept of the blog search engine. The best option would obviously be to have all the blogs in the world ping you when they update, but that isn't realistic when you're starting out.

So, is there a service out there that gets pinged and then allows third-parties access to the list of updated blogs.

I've found weblogs and the google service so far, are there any more out there?

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear.

I'm not looking to do the pinging, I'm (in essence) looking to get pinged/find a service that provides a list of updated blogs.

Are you actually looking to get your own blog auto pinged?
Some free blog services provide an auto ping option in the blog c-panel if this is the case. If you just looking for lists of recently updated blogs- the services mentioned above provides those eg feedburner and the others mentioned.
