I don't use Windows Update...it's annoying. Already patched my computer up, though.

I had this exact same problem with XP, microsoft is a damn abusive monopoly that needs to be split up, this is just one more example of why. They want to compete with AOL in the Instant Messenger market, so they put this program on everyone's computer and make it hard to impossible to get rid of.

This is why I'm not upgrading, XP is just a fancy version of windows 2000 for home users anyways. So why upgrade when I've got win2k?

I had to install XP on my Aunt's computer, to get rid of it I just deleted the program from the hard drive, the next time I booted up I got an error message. But then I never got it again.

Oh yeah, that works, I guess. I'd still like it to go away though.

I swear.. It makes me so mad when I see Microsoft pulling a stunt like this and at the same time people loving XP..ok, it's their opinion - but how can they not see what Microsoft is doing?

I've put Linux on every single computer in my house, and I'm loving it.. No annoying Microsoft pop-ups, no .NET registration, no major security holes that the developers keep secret for 5 weeks etc..

    Try Linux, you'll love it.
