    autosuggest problem

    hi to all

    i am a beginner in javascript and css

    i am building a web aplication in vb from visual studio 2005

    i have a form with +- 20 controls (textboxes,datagrid,dropdowns)

    in one of my textbox i want to had a autosuggest feature, it works ok but the problem is that suggestions list apears hidden by the other controls of the form.

    i downloaded this from:
    http://www.nczonline.net/downloads/

    ...autosuggest_part_3.zip

    the suggestion list is a implemented with a div.

    is there a way to put the list over the other controls

    thanks for the time and replays

    By the looks of it, this is a css issue.

    create a style for that div, and then set the z-index to 91. Not sure why but it seems to work everytime.

    Code:
    <style>
    .AutoSuggestList
    {
    	z-index: 91;
    }
    </style>

    thanks gRoberts for the replay

    why z-index: 91;

    is it supose the the biggest one???

    there is css file alredy
    code

    div.suggestions {
    -moz-box-sizing: border-box;
    box-sizing: border-box;
    border: 1px solid black;
    position: absolute;
    }

    div.suggestions div {
    cursor: default;
    padding: 0px 3px;
    }

    div.suggestions div.current {
    background-color: #3366cc;
    color: white;
    }

    i join this peace of code at the end (i don't now if it should be like this or else were....)

    div.suggestions div.AutoSuggestList {
    z-index: 91;
    }

    there were no changes.

    but looking at the html part of the code there are bigger z-indexes.

    thanks again for the replay

    hi to all

    some time passed since my last thread on this subject but i found another problem.

    my suggestion dropdown works ok, apears in front of buttons and textboxes but it apears hidden by other dropdowns and listboxes

    i went so see if it could be a z-index problem but in my css file give to my suggestion div associated to the textbox the biggest z-index

    the dropdowns and the listbox are populated in page_load event

    can someone give some help or direction

    is it possible have a div showing only 5 elements and have a scroll bar on the right side....

    i am a bit lost in javascript ignorance...

    thanks for the replays and time
