bulbs and therefore the posts **are** relevant to this forum.

156 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique, and what brands are faulty.

27 to post URLs where one can see examples of different light bulbs

14 to post that the URLs were posted incorrectly, and to post corrected URLs.

3 to post about links they found from the URLs that are relevant to this list which makes light bulbs relevant to this list.

33 to concatenate all posts to date, then quote them including all headers and footers, and then add "Me Too."

12 to post to the list that they are unsubscribing because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy.

19 to quote the "Me Too's" to say, "Me Three."

4 to suggest that posters request the light bulb FAQ.

    This thread is stupid!

Everyone knows good light bulbs don't burn out! You don't want to replace a light bulb, buy a better one! Duh!

Sparkie, I don't think anybody is breaking the forum guidelines by discussing light bulbs! It's a general discussion forum, and almost all of us have to know how to replace a light bulb anyway. Since we all have light bulbs, and need to replace them, they're relevant to general life, and therefore to this general discussion forum.

In fact I had to replace a light bulb this morning!

Anyway, so I turned on the lights in the front room today only to find that one of the bulbs had blown.

    I had to replace it.

I wondered why it had blown, since it had only been installed a few days ago. "Weren't most lightbulbs rated for 1000 hours average lifetime?" I thought to myself.

I looked at the burnt out lightbulb, and the brand was "Home Brand". That explained it all.

I replaced it with a 75 Watt bulb, because I had no 60 Watt bulb around. I was a little bit concerned that 75 Watts would be too much for the fitting, but it's only a few more Watts.

Here's a tip: don't buy home brand. A few extra cents for a good brand of light bulb can save you a few extra dollars a year.

    True story.

Honestly, changing lightbulbs is such a common task that I think we should have a lightbulbs only channel and MMJ can be the team leader over it.

The lightbulb shouldn't be changed! It brought the whole sorry mess on itself because of its reckless "on or off, no in-betweens" policy! I have no sympathy whatsoever for the lightbulb, and demand that we stop even talking about changing it.

Hello everyone, I am Mr. L. Bulb's Lawyer, Cheaty McSheister. I will have to know that these claims that my client is burnt out, broken, or busted are totally outragous. I am advising my client to seek full legal action agaisnt these slanderous remarks. Never in my life have a seen such blatant racism against a light bulb, just because he was not born a so called "high-quality" light bulb.

sorry had to try to lighten (i'm punny) it up. The seriousness of this thread was getting way to serious for my non-serious tastes.
