Fireworks PNG for Transparrant in DW?
I imported a transparent PNG from Fireworks to Dreamweaver 8. It remains transparent in all browsers except IE. I always used gif transparencies, but they look horrible.
Is it true? Can I use Png as a way of doing transparent files in Drewamwewaver?

The question is not "Can I use .PNG transparancies with Dreamweaver?" but "Can I use .PNG transparancies with IE?.
I can use just about any image format while desiging in DW; however, if the particular image format is not supported, or rendered correctly, in a particular browser, especially the most widely use browser, I might want to consider using another format. I ran across this exact issue last week. While Firefox renders a .PNG transparency just beautiful, IE displays the transparent area of the image in a pale, much too dark color for my purposes.
I don't know if IE7 supports .PNG tranparencies or not, but until I hear Microsoft's new browser is much less buggy than the present release, it looks like I will be choosing a different image format for my transparencies.

There are workarounds for IE's PNG transparency deficiencies. Search on 'IE PNG transparency' and you'll find plenty of references.
