I do a county fair's site. They have programs that currently prepare information being sent electronicallty to printers and newspapers for publication; specifically, entry-information and judging-results. We want to place this information on their website.
I use MS-FrontPage2000 and MS-Word. Their file has a ".dat" extension. I am unable to open, import, or insert their file into either program, nor, will it open automatically when I click on it.
If we can come up with a straight-across conversion it will really add value to their site.
Unless their proprietary program can change that information into a word file then your stuck. DAT is a pretty generic extension.
If they have Adobe Acrobat Writer install on the system they could print the document to a .pdf file. You can then put those on the web-site. Otherwise you will need some sort of reader application for the .dat files that users can install on their machines.
