Excuse me! Is that a full stop at the end of your emoticon or does your sad wink have a spot?

If it's the former you are fined for using confusing punctuation. If it's the latter I suggest Clearasil.

I thought I would jump in to this thread and introduce myself as the WHT captain, Equentity - Jamie. We have a series scheduled against SitePoint in the new year I think. I'm looking forward to kicking some SitePoint rear end.
    Regards,
    Jamie Harrop

In a gesture of sportsmanship I'd like to welcome Jamieharrop's contribution to this thread and wish his team all the best in the forthcoming series.

Although I would never condone butt kicking in any form I think that Cronweb lives closest so if he could just pop over and show this young whipper snapper what for I can guarantee a vice-vice captain position for him.

In a totally unrelated subject. I have more players than places and Helping + Jamieharrop = Traitor

Haha. I'd happily fly to Spain to allow you to do the butt kicking personally, Mike. Of course, you would have to beat me at a game of cricket before your foot got near me.

I know what you mean about the more players than places. WHT isn't too bad because most of the members are from the other side of the Atlantic and don't know a cricket ball from a cricket bat, but we do have a few more players than places. The first time I switched the team around to let these players play, we lost (Heavily!) so I rapidly switched the team back.
    Regards,
    Jamie Harrop

Changing the team around does make a difference and I like to give everyone a chance to play - that's probably why we lose all the time!

    2nd Test

My groin's still playing me up so I'm naming an unchanged side for tomorrow's match against Zcultfm.

There were some really good positives from the last game not least Hawk's 5 stumpings and 1 catch in the first innings.

There are a number of players knocking on the door but they will have to wait until the matches against WHT or the World Cup to have their chance.

You can follow the progress of the 2nd Test here: http://www.simulationcricket.com/sco...t-nov_2006&g=5

I've learned that the trick is to abstain the night before.

When we were 53/2 I thought we were in trouble but some excellent batting so far.

Okay, let's sum up what's happened so far.

Sitepoint.com went on to make 279 before the last man fell. There were THREE half-century makers, SlitheryImp with 65, Heman maximus who is continuing his good run of form with 69, and iTechno, who posted his first Test half-century, with a career-saving 55.

Cronweb also chipped in with 30.

With 68 overs to bat on Day 2, Zcultfm.com got off to a bad start. At various times, they were: 1/14, 2/17, 3/17, 4/19, 5/90.

At stumps on Day 2, Zcultfm.com are 8/169, still well short of Sitepoint.com's 279.

For the first time this series, Sitepoint.com have the upper hand, and are well positioned for their first Test win.

    Live Scorecard: http://simulationcricket.com/scoreca...t-nov_2006&g=5

The entire match scorecard has been posted above, many people have said they wanted this, so here it is

Great stuff battye and thanks for posting the summary and scorecard.

Well done team. Just need to get jakeolsenand the tail out quickly tomorrow and we've got a chance.

    Stumps Day 3:
    http://www.simulationcricket.com/sco...t-nov_2006&g=5

I don't know what to say really, besides this is Sitepoint.com's most successful day of cricket, with Heman maximus becoming Sitepoint.com's FIRST TEST CENTURIAN, with 125 as his overnight score.

This is also the first century in this Test series. jakeolsen of Zcultfm.com, you may remember, was on 99 not out last night. He was given out LBW 2 overs into day 3, concluding the Zcultfm.com innings, and also stranded on 99.

This is the second time in Test cricket history, that a player has been stranded on 99. Equentity - Jamie (jamieharrop here at Sitepoint) was stranded on 99 not out, but for him, it was a little different, as the winning runs were scored, giving Webhostingtalk.com the win. Zandpiloot, the former BalladP2P.com player was once stranded on 95 not out, after his captain declared the innings. BalladP2P.com went on to lose the match.

Great stuff everyone. Let's continue for a bit, get a good score, declare and give us a day and a bit to bowl them out. Let's go for it!
