    H1 element backgrounds/borders in IE

    Hello all,

    I have a dilema. In some H1 tags I have a background image or border displayed. The first H1 tag does not display the background image/border but subsequent H1 tags do. This is in IE only. Any ideas about that?

    .mainContent h1 {
    font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    border-bottom:2px dotted #ccc;
    font-size:large;
    color:#003591;
    font-weight:bold;
    margin-top:0px;
    margin-bottom:5px;
    }

    div.lftContent h1 {
    font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    font-size:small;
    color:#fff;
    font-weight:bold;
    background-image:url(../images/common/carrotDot_blu2.gif);
    background-position:left;
    background-repeat:no-repeat;
    padding-left:17px;
    margin-top:0px;
    margin-bottom:5px;
    }

    Hello Poor Knight, and welcome to Sitepoint! Is there any chance I can take a look at the complete HTML and CSS code (preferably through a link, so I can also see how it looks visually before suggesting any changes that may have to be made)?

    Hi,

    Sounds like a "layout" issue (see faq on "haslayout") but as Dan's already said we'd need to see the html that goes with all this in a (non)working example or preferably a link to give better advice
