Question How to onClick create a new div layer?

    Hey guys,

I don't know if my title is right, but I am after something that, if clicked, will produce a new layer with more info in it. Pretty much just like the one on this forum, if you click on my user name, it will create a list that can overlap whatever may be underneath it...

I'd like to be able to control the position of where it will appear and the size of it and also offer a close button.

Does anyone know how to go about doing this? I found this code on Dynamicdrive, but it isn't exactly what I'm after it's specifically for creating a larger image, rather displaying a 'mini page' on a new layer.

    Thanks for any help
    David
