    :confused: ?? ummmm (wierd(ish) JS error)

    I am a little confused with a Javascript error I am getting with the front page of my website.

    Now, nearly everytime I load up the page (first time) it comes up with an error (you know there is an icon in the taskbar - the little page with the yellow warning sign on it)

    After I refresh the page it goes away and only sometimes comes back after a few refreshes?

    I have no idea why - could somebody have a look for me..

    [Please note that on the site many of the graphics are being borrowed from a few mates who have lent me them as place holders while I get the real ones done and also none of the links work @ the mo]

    The address is http://www.hilariousminds.com (HilariousMinds)

    Many Thanks in advance
    Rick

    Wow, not even when it first loaded?

    Also did the page look ok?, the design still has a few issues etc but I think its getting there. Opinions would be nice - When I get more of it done I will submit it to the site review forum

    Thanks Alot - you have put a large smile on me face!

    it's pretty cool. I like the dude in the upper left. I'd use thinner borders on your "sections" and I'd lose the scrolling copyright in the background. I'd be thrilled to go into more depth when you get farther and post it in the "REview" section. But so far, so good.

    Thanks - the scroller script thingy just looked good so I decided to throw something together along that idea

    The only thing I need to work out is what to put there - i.e. the source code of the page, quotes, latest article etc - I am confused - any ideas

    Well keep your eye on the reviews forum! As soon as I get the graphics from my mate who is doing them I am gonna do the template and get some work done!

    XHTML - http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=ht...ype=Inline&ss= could some one look at this for me and tell me what the hell half the errors on it mean - I mean it says no </tr> tag to close whatever when the </tr> tag is on the next line and it says Error: start tag was here at the start of half the tags on the page - well duh, where else would it start and why is that an error

    Many Thanks

    The Javascript error is - what was it exactly

    The php error was just that I was working on some backend db stuff and was chaning & testing php so nothing to worry about there

    Usually it has something to do with a missing quotation mark further up in your script. At least when I get those errors thats what is causing it

    Hi rboycey,

    Using NN4+ (which actually supplies the error line), the error is pinpointed on line 442 and as Maelstrom said, it is a quote:
    desc('Humour :: Stories. Funny stories & drama's ...')

    it also found the following two:

    line 117: marqueedata is not defined.
    and line 21: syntax error.
    -->
    return document.layers[id];
    e;
    trategy, then
    rns an object reference.
