Should we just take the logo off the site or is there a file where we can download it?

Read some of the posts above... there are links there to various versions of the SitePoint logo which you can download. I've also asked Alex to zip up a logos in a few different formats and post them to this thread.
I should come up with some sort of prize for the best wallpaper made incorporating the SitePoint logoMatt Mickiewicz - Co-Founder

Dave the 3 logos that are in the zip file were sent to me by one of the sitepoint staff members.
they are
sitepoint_logo.png 1600w x 567h
sitepoint_white.tif 1600w x 567h
sitepoint_grey.tif 1600w x 567
they are pretty much all you should need to come up with a good wallpaper!

Hey guys,
Here is a zip file containing a couple of hi res versions of the logo. One is a PSD, the other a Fireworks PNG (so it's vector). I haven't got an EPS or AI because they dont hold the glow properly. If you've got Fireworks you can copy/paste the vectors straight into Freehand/illustrator, whatever.
Anyway this should do the job.

Somehow Macromedia have tapped into the standard PNG format and managed to use it as FireWork's native file format to save vector based files, but with live effects. It's layered like a PSD and fully scalable, but is a smaller file size and can still be displayed in a web browser. Neat trick really.
Try the demo of V4. You can at least use it to copy/paste the vectors into something else.
I always used Photoshop till about 9 months ago, but probably only open it about once every two weeks or so now.
Masking and retouching is still better in PS, and large print sized files are easier, but I prefer Fireworks for everything else now.

Very nice, Seer. Gimp seems like a cool program. If only I had Linix....
