checkbox border?

Ok, i have a slight problem. I am using CSS at the moment to format the look/style of input boxes and checkboxes.
The problem i have, is with the checkboxes. They always seem to have a square border round them, only about 1px but still annoying.
I was wondering whether there is a way of removing this border? Either through CSS or simple HTML.
It would be great if someone knew how this is done to post it here

Can't you use:

input {
  border: 0;
  }

If not, I don't think you can. :-(

If you're crafty you can fix up a script that I'll use images instead of the standard checkbox for people with JavaScript enabled. Kinda like what Zoomerang uses. :-)
