    Fluid center column w/ min-width

I am trying to build a two column layout, with the center (content) column being fluid and the right-column being fixed width.

However, because the center column will have some pretty wide images (about 550px) I don't want it to keep resizing smaller then the images it will contain.

As an example, please go to www.halarewich.com/test/ to see what I mean.

I want the center column to stop resizing once it is the same size (or slightly larger) then the black box which is an H2 element.

    thanks!

well you can use min-width and max-width properties

So say if your images are 550px you could have the outer box set to min-width: 600px; (so it gives a 25px border) doing this ensures it won't go smaller that 600px in FF an Opera etc min and max width's do not work in IE6 unfortunately.

Is that the kind of thing you mean?

That is exactly what I mean. However, because this is for a project that will be marketed toward common internet users, it must work that way in IE 6 as well.

I am open to alternate layouts to make this happen, or even IE expressions/workarounds.

    Thanks
