Each company would have their own correction routines. Also each model would then have its own quality. These usually strive for best quality versus best size. The best thing you can do is scan your images at the greatest possible resolution and then resample them to 72 DPI when you get them ready for web deployment. There are many great tools out there to optimize image files for the web after it is scanned.
