    how do i use mod_rewrite properly?

    basically can someone give me the code to make site.com/page/ display site.com?q=page but not redirect it? i've tried other things but i just can't seem to grasp ahold of mod_rewrite. thanks in advance.

    First, we don't do freebie work - we're here to help you learn by working your way through problems.

    Second, just about every thread in this forum deals with the same (or very similar) problems and code abounds in every thread.

    Third, over a year ago, I got tired of repeating the same information in every thread so I wrote the article in my signature which covered nearly all the problems encountered for some months. It's been updated based on interesting new code or problems and clarifications made in response to visitor comments.
