Unhappy Any ideas why this doesnt work in IE?

I have done this page with css and the roll overs don't work IE, the background image doesn't even show up.

Now i didn't know this because did on a mac and tested with Safari and FF where they work fine.

Any ideas is there a bug or hack for showing background images in IE.

Very strange because i thought it would be fine. Built using a tutorial so not sure how it all works.

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks

Try adding a rule for :active links as well as :hover (IE incorrectly uses active instead of hover)

    Thanks Dan.

Got a feeling its just not meant to work on IE

Put up a test page with just that in and the css at the top thought it would be easier.

    Stupid thing

    Thanks all4nerds.

Problem is the box is not the same width as the background image so you get a white space, i understand that is there for the padding but the padding is there for actual type across and not the background image.

    Thanks for the test tailslide>

    Cheers guys

    Aaa thanks all4nerds much appreciated.

Can i ask a few questions, what does the overflow: hidden do?

Also is it possible to change the size of the font without screwing up the size, i had a quick play but it changed the whole hight of the box. :S

I assume this is ok on IE now, as i cannot check?

    Many thanks again

Looks like Tailslide and all4nerds got you squared away.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, though. I spent all my time working on a client's project--didn't get done until 3 this morning. That, and add in sleep, and well, I'm sure you get the idea.
