Opera Browser Error - Please Help

Hello Everyone,

I am a novice web designer and I use front page and dreamweaver to edit my websites. The link below is a page I am working on and for some reason the text towards the bottom gets cut off in Opera 9.02. I have no clue what to do after an hour of trouble shooting.

Any suggestions?

Your code is written in such a way as to make it next to impossible to help - it's all on one line!

But it looks ok in Opera 9.02 to me... maybe it's a cache issue?

Anyone else just in case, because when I load it initially in opera 9.02 the bottom text is colliding with the bottom table, but when I refresh the bottom text just dissappears.

Ok - the footer does seem to move around a bit on refresh or if the resolution is reduced - but it's hard to offer any advice with the markup the way it is... sorry mbay.

That is exactly what I am talking about, the footer, towards the bottom. What can I do to fix that error?

As for the markup, what can I do to provide more information?

I used is frontpage, but I am currently redoing the exact same thing in dreamweaver, hopefully that will fix it.

Any other suggestions?

Validate it. I bet when the site validates that it will work just fine in Opera.

Getting a doctype on your page will help as well.

I will try validation and doc type again.

Do any of you can recommend a similiar editor like frontpage that will not run into this trouble?

Do you intend to manage your legacy code or write modern, table-less code with the editor?

I would reccommend N|vu, but only if you have sparkly code - it will choke when trying to open old FrontPage code.

I actually would like to learn CSS John and I am gradually practicing with it.

As for frontpage, I resolved the error with Opera 9.02.

The problem was that the footer would fail to display correctly even after refresh.

I restored the optimize html functions to default and removed all optimize html functions in the remote web properties. It seems to work on refresh.

I know you do...I was suggesting using N|vu over FrontPage and explaining that as good an app as N|vu is, it will choke when trying to open pages that aren't coded in a very modern way (i.e. pages originally created in FrontPage).

As far as really great book/tutorial that covers CSS, HTML, layout, typography, multimedia etc., all using best practices, is the HTML, XHTML, and CSS, Sixth Edition: Visual QuickStart Guide. It is one of the most invaluable resources you can have on hand for just about anything "frontend" that comes up.
