Overriding the firewall

Hi

I think I am behind firewall or proxy which is sux because there are 100s of sites blocked in fact searching for something like proxy or hack will display a blank page. This is really a pain.

Any idea how to get those sites . I would really appreciate any advice.

You could set up something like CGI::Proxy on a server outside of the censorware. Or just ask a friend to do the same if they have a server elsewhere.

Unfortunately I cant even open the URL http://jmarshall.com/tools/cgiproxy/ because it contains the word proxy , is there any way I could get script copied here or sent to me via email.???

I have no idea how to hack a proxy, but I must say that that proxy is there for a reason. If you need to get around it, I suggest that you contact whoever put it there and see if they can set the permission settings to allow you to bypass it.

If not, then you are most likely in clear violation of the terms of your Internet access, and if caught, you would most likely loose that access.

I closed a thread similar to this a few days back, and for the same reason I'm going to close this one.

As has been stated by Dominique, the proxy is there for a reason and to find a way around it would more than likely put you in violation of your TOS. The SitePoint network cannot be seen to condone such actions and therefore this is not an appropriate place to discuss it.
