    Editing math formulae

    Hi,

My current project is a teacher's lesson planning tool. For those techers who teach math or science (mainly) I'd like to give the ability to enter formulae. This could either by WYSIWYG or like OOO's equation editor (a bit like TeX).

Anyway, does anyone know of a library class available anywhere which I could use in place of a JTextArea that supports formula editing? Ideally, it should provide its output as a string, perhaps using MathML?

    TIA

Why not make use of MATLAB or MATHEMATICA and the other math software. I know of Tex.

MATHEMATICA provides the ability to write some notes and then run your command.

    Hope it helps.
