    Is this a valid XHTML table definition?

    Hi!

    Is this a valid table definition?

    <table>
    <tr>
    <th>...</th>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td>...</td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <th>...</th>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td>...</td>
    </tr>
    </table>

    Note the alternating tds and ths.

    Thanks

    Yes, although you might want to use multiple tbodies. However, why would you want to use such a table? Perhaps a DL is more appropriate?

    Semantically, a one-column table is questionable. A table is a set of data with relationships in two (or more) dimensions. If it's just one column, I'd say it's a list.

    What you're describing looks a lot like a definition list (DL).
