    Thumbs up [solved] background not covering

    the background is not covering till the bottom of the page at here

    it is supposed to be a lite browish color and wears the class "backgroundlayer", someone told me to use length: 804px, and he showed me a screenshot (attached that) and it worked there, but I tried changing the body to 804px in length but that didn't give me any result, where am I supposed to put that length or is there a way to do it?

    well he/she used quite a different method, and my code actually is still pretty much the same, but I can't figure out how the guy from that other thread did it either, actually

    well I cleared out some invalid things out of the CSS like the vertical align and the other heights.

    what I want is to make the class I made in CSS called "backgroundlayer" to cover the 800px in the middle from the top to the bottom.

    somehow that code you described isn't really workin, and neither do I fully understand what you did there.

    If the background layer is s'posed to be 800px high then give it:

    min-height: 800px;
    * html height: 800px; /* for IE only */

    well can't the height just cover till the bottom of the page, thats what I am trying to achieve (like in the screenshot, where the light brownish color covers up till the bottom of the page)

    Deathshadow showed you how to do that on the other thread with a bg-image attached to the body.

    No, that works both for IE and FF in what I have seen so far, and the background is not going have content, there will be contest place over but not in the class itself.

    hmm, ok that seems to give some problems indeed, but I wonder then how all those sites do that, they have like a background underneath there blocks and the background is centered of the page and reaches from the top till bottom of page no matter the length of the content within.

    This works just fine, I just let the background strecth itself with the length of the content, that looks better anyway =)

    well the thing that I want to work on is the segments, since they also need to cover as long as the content long is, any suggestions on that perhaps?

    I wonder, how can I "via CSS" increase the space that is between the outern layer of "segment1header" and the text that is within, I though line-height, that that wont work if I want to put more than 1 line in there

    -_-" obviosly only 2 paddings, totally forgot

    well I wouldn't even know what that all means, and I think I have to understand my own CSS atleast till certain extend, neither would I really know how to use that either on my page, that code only makes me riddled even more :S
