    Arrghh firefox vs IE display issues... again!

    Having positioning problems again! Looks fine in IE but off in Firefox.

    http://www.centralmediauk.com/elless/index.php

    Its the green bullet by the nav links on the left...

    Heres the HTML for one of the links...

    Code:
     	<div id="navLinks">
     		<div class="navLinkRow">
     			<div class="linkText"><a href="design.php" title="Design" onMouseover="lightup('bullet1')" onMouseout="turnoff('bullet1')">design</a></div>
     			<div class="linkBullet"><img src="images/greenBullet.gif" alt="" name="bullet1" height="9" width="9" /></div>
     		</div>
    And the CSS...

    Code:
     #navLinks {
     	position:absolute;
     	top:184px;
     	left:0px;
     	width:72px;
     	height:180px;
     	}

     .navLinkRow {
     	margin:0px;
     	padding:0px;
     	width:72px;
     	height:16px;
     	margin-bottom:30px;
     	}

     .linkText {
     	margin:0px;
     	padding:0px;
     	text-align:right;
     	margin-right:20px;
     	font-size: 1em;
     	}

     .linkText a:link, a:visited {
     	margin:0px;
     	padding:0px;
     	text-decoration:none;
     	color:#717171;
     	font-weight: bold;
     	}

     .linkText a:hover, a:active {
     	margin:0px;
     	padding:0px;
     	text-decoration:none;
     	color:#cccccc;
     	font-weight: bold;
     	}

     .linkBullet {
     	margin:0px;
     	padding:0px;
     	position:absolute;
     	left:64px;
     	width:9px;
     	height:9px;
     	margin-top:-12px;
     	}
    Any help will be VERY appreciated.

    One day I'll get my head round CSS positioning

    This may be a stupid suggestion, but did you try playing with the line-height value and see if they evened up?

    I think you've got worse problems than those bullets. Have you viewed the site at 800 x 600?

    Oh let's not get this going again. Move on, built 1024 x 768 designs, we have to draw the line somewhere.

    Yeah and it's not at 1024 x 768.
    Regardless of what screen res, a layout that makes bits disappear above the top of the window when the window is resized is fundamentally flawed.

    And now fixed. It looks good enough in 800x600 for me now.

    Thanks for the spot dude.

    You'd also be better reworking that list as an unordered list, setting it to list-style: none and adding the images as background-images. Put the on & off states in the same image and then move the on state into view on :hover with a different background-position.

    Yeah I tried to that initially but had real problem with lining the bullets up and also the right aligning off the link text.

    Any ideas on that?
