Hi! I have created a form on our Intranet that will mail it's results to the webmaster. Everything works wonderful, except the author name is always blank. When I delved into this, the author is represented as an IP address. Is there any way for the author to identify themselves in the form and then have their name included in the sending of the message?

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Thanks....Tracey

    Well,
First of all, if all else fails, have your visitor put their name in parenthesis AFTER they type in their email address, all in the same recipient field.

For a HTML suggestion, you might try using the <input type="text" name="author"> etc. I have never personally tried it since I have no use for it and don't even know if this particular form field code exists, but it's worth a shot, eh?

    Hope this helps!

If they are logging in how are you tracking their progress through the site? Cookies? Session Variables? Server Variables? Its simple. Just query the database of users by what ever variable your tracking access to your site with.
