    More newbie questions

This is a great site. I have been learning Ruby, but I have not been able to find satisfactory answers to the following questions...

    1. How do you run another program (Like WORDPAD) from within Ruby?

    2. Can Ruby access an Access97 data base? If so, can it execute specific queries or macros?

You guys are awesome. Thanks in advance.

You can run wordpad via a system call:

    Code:
system "the command to run wordpad"
I don't know how to run wordpad, but this is the command to run notepad:

    Code:
    system "notepad"
    An abbreviation for this is:

    Code:
    `notepad`
You can access Access with WIN32OLE. More information about this:
