    World Cup.

Anyone watch the draw for the World Cup? Who do you fancy to do well. It was funny watching it here (Ireland) The commentater seemed to have a hang over or something he kept making abusive little comments .

I dont think anyone can really guess who is going to win already because there is no such thing as a bad team in the world cup.

Just wondering if your locked into a room or something? It was all over the news how couldnt you know! But here it is anyway.

Germany, Saudi Arabia and Cameroon. I fancy our chances to get to the semi-finals after all we did knock Holland out and never lost to Portugal.

Bad thing is though the games are on while I do my leaving cert.

    I'm from France. We rule.
And they even made it very easy for us in the first round, I can't believe that.

Group F & G look very fun, we'll see great matches way before the final games

Edit: a bit soon, but who do you think will end first and second in each group ? Here's my list:

    Group A: France, Denmark
    Group B: Slovenia, Paraguay
    Group C: Brazil, turkey
    Group D: Portugal, Poland
    Group E: Ireland, Cameroun
    Group F: England, Argentina
    Group G: Italia, Croatia
    Group H: Russia, Japan

France were one of the teams the Irish commentater made a comment about. When it was on there group he said France are top seed's automatically in that group because they won the last world cup and then in a real mean sort of annoyed voice he goes not that they will ever win it again! I just burst out laughing. You just know that the television authorities got a few complaints about him.

Oh yeah Pixel the JC is nothing trust me It's just one big anti-climax wait until next September you will see. It gives you a good reason to go into school drunk and thats it.

Well in every major international tournement, there's a group of death. This time, we (England) got it. Personally, I don't think we're good enough to get through that group, actually I don't think we're good enough to get through any group.

I'm living in England. We invented the game. We suck.

I'm only a fair weather fan (world cup and that's about it!), but you really knock Germany out so soon in group E Shin??

I was hoping England would draw The Faeroe Islands, Oman and Lichtenstein. Instead we get the favourites to win, a team we haven't beaten for the last ten million years and a team that will make us look stupid with their silky African skills. Probably.
I am not enthusiastic. And if we go throught to the next round we'll get Brazil or France. Bleurgh!
A fiver on England to win the World Cup then, as the odds will be so good.

I'm from Ireland also and dont think that we have that handy a group. I fancy either Argentina or France to win, but England have a good chance if they can tighten up at the back.

My pick for the world cup has to be Republic of Ireland . Seriously though you wont know who will win until the second phase. Every team is there because they are among the top teams in the world and should be capable of beating the best on there day hands down.

It's football - you know, where you move the ball around with your foot.
It's probably confusing because it's called the World Cup and the whole world gets a go. I understand you have the World Series in America, where it's just America, probably that's where the misunderstanding lies.
Excuse me, creole, I'm in a perversely contrary mood.

Oh...I thought Football was only played in America. I didn't realize that other countries played it. Do you use the same rules with touchdowns and field goals and all?

Oh...well why don't you just call it soccer then. That's what we call it. Isn't that what everyone should call it? It would make more sense to use the same name as the one the USA uses.

because the rest of the world uses football - america invented its own football, and called the normal football soccer

Just cause the USA calls it soccer, doesn't mean that the rest of the world is automatically told to switch to the other name

Well that's dumb. If America does something then that's what the rest of the world should do. It makes it easier for you all to have the same names for stuff as we do.

"Well that's dumb. If America does something then that's what the rest of the world should do. It makes it easier for you all to have the same names for stuff as we do."

I agree entirely, creole, but first you should invent your own language, as we want ours back - we hate the way you keep taking 'u's out of words like 'colour', and saying 'aluminum' instead of 'aluminium'. And you keep promouncing things wrong, like saying 'rilly' instead of 'really'.
When you've done that bit, we'll gladly start copying you again.

P.S. Weird, in American Football, the ball is a rugby ball, i.e. not a ball. I always thought saying 'American Football' was a bit like an Englishman calling it 'Irish Football', or in US terms, 'Polish Football' because it's not really football. I thought it was like sarcasm, or something, and they really (rilly) meant American Rugby.
