Starting with Web Design

Ok guys well im taking the jump and gonna start getting into my web design much more readily now (as well as my full-time job ) and im ok with design and backend now, but when i have finished a clients site, what would i be expected to do if i had told them that i will do a simple ammount of SEO for them.

Have a read of the SEO FAQ's (and then come back to us if you have specific questions). It lays out all the basics in an easy to understand way.

You're right to start looking into it now, as if you can make the site SEO friendly as you go along it will make things a lot easier than going back changing things once you're done. As Hawk said the FAQ is a great resource.
