Embedding Images in Word

This may seem like a moronic question, but I was wondering if it is possible to embed images in Microsoft Word (2000)?? I'm sending off some resumes via email and I have a b/w small graphic I'd like to include. <---for some reason it's important to me that I include this image.

It automatically embeds images anyway, unluess you check the 'link' box

platinum's right, Word will automatically embed the image.

Insert>Picture>From File..., select your image and make sure the option is set to Insert (the default) as opposed to Link to File or Insert and Link.

Word does tend to drastically bloat when you embed images for some reason (presumambly it's own image format or somthing).... so be prepared

I didn't think it was embedding the image since without the image the .doc file is 28.0k and with it 28.5k.

The image I'm adding is 4.43k!!...What the %&*!?

Word's image handling is the subject of much head-scratching. In actual fact, it can even still embed an image when you've got "link to file" selected. All the "link" does is update the image if the source file changes. The actual image data can still be saved with the document.

If you're sending resumes, why not use PDF? Much, much more reliable, secure, compatible. And looks a whole lot more professional
