    Overclocked vs non

    How can I tell the difference between a pure 900mhz duron and a duron thats been overclocked to 900mhz?

    there should be 3 lines of code similar to this:

    where this one would be from a 700Mhz chip

    code? I bought this compter from a neighbor and I'm wondering if he sold me a OC'd 900 duron instead of a pure 900.

    you'd have to pull off the heatsink to check that code (printed on the top of the cpu) which can be tricky and dangerous as durons are very fragile and many heatsinks are very tricky to remove and re-apply. any chance your neighbor would be willing to pull the heatsink for you so you can check?
    i dont know id amd has a cpuid program like intel does, or you could just use that to check.

    You can also use TestCPU to determine your procesor make, model and clock speed, as well as run some benchmarks to compare it to other processors. [569KB] (It's a great program for all by the way!)
