I bet you there are a few hosts out there who offer Chilisoft ASP and MySQL on the linux platform. Don't know any off the top of my head though...

take a look at findwebhost i did a search for NT server, MySql and ASP and got about 170 results... im sure there must be one there!

I know Cosmotek.net offers ASP/CF hosting with Access and MySQL on their silver and gold plans and MSSQL as well on their platinum plan.
I'm sure their are others so I'd second iTec's reccomendation and check the web hosting review/forum sites.
Ach @ justin! ChiliSoft or other xNix based ASP solutions are not allowed!!
Anyways, http://www.adehost.com seems amazing. I've been with them for just over a month and have been incredibly impressed with teh service and the prices. In fact later this month or early next I'll be upgrading to a reseller account so I can host all my domains on their servers.
Say hi to Asher for me if you join![]()

I just checked adehost.com .. the prices for what they're offering seem unbelievable.
I also just heard back from http://www.lfchosting.com -- they offer the nt to mysql, and will also let me register custom asp components.
thanks all for your help

That's not fast at all nowadays. If there's any type of load it'll slow down dramatically. Our network is running off a T3 connection so your web pages will load incredibly fast.

I contacted adehost to ask..
"Is it possible to connect from microsoft asp on your windows servers to
mysql databases.. most host don't offer this so I just wanted to check.."
this is the response I got..
"Hmm, i dont think thats a feature in ASP at all. Unless there's somesort of custom component installed."
Are you connecting to mysql via odbc on their servers?
DSN-less connections. No reason you can't connect to ASP, in fact I've done it on their servers. If you need custom components intsalled though, they do that as well no problem![]()

To connect to a MySQL Server, I think they will need to istall MyODBC which will install the MySQL Driver which will then let you connect using both a DSN and a DSNless connection.
I could be wrong, but when I was reseaching an article, that is the only way I could find.

It looks the same as anything else. DSN-less still happens through ODBC. I guess they have MyODBC installed on our server then D.
Anyways, just ask Asher to install it and I'm sure he will.![]()

Sunny: you ask him, you know him better
aspapp: dunno what it looks like, sorry, never used it before.

yeah.. I figured they must have myodbc installed on the server.. but the last answer I got from their support rep was..
"No im sure we do not. Unless somone else installed it i dont know.
~Ein."
so I was just making sure that before I sign up that it's possible.. and they don't give me the "sorry we don't support that" answer

I used MyODBC to connect to MySQL database on my PC. It worked with and without DSN connection.
