    New Virus/Worm

    Hi,

Unfortunately, there is a new virus worm, and to make it worse - it knows how to send itself as a file request on ICQ (how I got it)..

Just thought I'd post it for you to see.

I've been getting a ton of new ones at work with these extensions:

    .scr - a screensaver
    .mp3.pif - file disguised as an mp3

Make sure all you guys keep your anti-virus definitions up to date!

Here's the details the IT dept. circulated at work today:

    Subject: Hi

    How are you?
When I saw this screen saver, I immediately thought of you
I am in a harry, I promise you will love it!

The name of the attachment is Gone.SCR or Gone.Scr.vbs.

I got it too. It is extremely destructive. I could not start my computer properly and since I could not figure out how to repair all the missing files, I had to pay a local computer repair shop $105 to fix it today. I have been out of commision since 2:30 yesterday afternoon, and I work from my computer. Major hassle! I sent out a warning to everyone in my address book about it so that they don't open it in case my computer sent it to them as well. :/
