    Increasing Page Rank

    Hello Guys,

I just downloaded Google toolbar and checked out my pages rank and realized that they were too low. Is there anyway I can increase my page ranks and what benefit do I get if my pages have high page ranks ?

Simply put, the more sites you get to link to you, the higher your PageRank will be. Getting over 6 is very difficult - but work on getting those reciprocal links!

I am planning to make some small websites with few pages and upload them to free hosts. These websites would contain few jokes and would link to me.

Would this increase my Page Rank?

I believe sites hosted on free host are given a low page rank, unless it is popular.

Well, I have few domain names that I rarely use. Using them for the website (just for links) would work?

How much a website contributes to your page rank depends on how good of a pagerank it has itself.

So just putting those sites up on free hosts wouldn't work, you also have to promote those sites, specifically try to get them in directories like Yahoo and DMOZ.

Then they will help with your page rank.

Also the subject matter of the page linking to you is important to. These sites should have the same subject matter as the site you're trying to promote.
