Lightbox JS - Flash object appearing through overly

    Hi,

Just implemented the Litebox JS script to overly some of my images on a site and i have a problem in that my flash object appears as well.

Now i read the support part which directs you to this sitepoint thread but there seem to be so many approaches people are taking, i just want to know the most common one used?

Also will this affect the validity of my page, currently validates Strict.

Can someone also direct me to a good site with JavaScript resources? Not boring stuff on validating forms but the cool latest JS techniques like this!

    Thanks

Flash in all browsers, select lists in IE and iframes in Opera always appear in front of everything else on the web page. If you don't want them in front then you have to hide them.

    Hi,
I have exactly the same problem with the flash being on top.

Any idea on how you can hide the swfs when you click on the lightbox link?

    many thanks

Use getElementsByTagName to loop through all of the object, select, and iframe tags when you are turning on the lightbox and hide them. Loop through again when turning it off to display them again.

Thank you so much for your reply.

I am really not a javascript expert so I can hardly understand what you are talking about.

I will try a bit harder to think and look around but if it's not too much to ask could you please add some code, it might help me understand a bit more.

    Many thanks again.

Take a look at http://javascript.about.com/library/blmodald1.htm which includes the code to hide and unhide all objects, selects, and iframes (since there are various browsers that insist on placing one or more of these types of object in front of everything else).
