    why are my bgColors not showing up??

    im using these 2 styles
    Code:
    .navBtn{
    	background-color:a35151;
    }
    .bars {
    	background:url(no_flash_bars.gif);
    }
    i have a <td> with the bars style which is an image of some white lines, and inside the <td> column is a table that has the navBtn style

    like so
    HTML Code:
    <td style="bars"><table style="navBtn" ........</td></table

    but it seems like the bars is overiding the tables background because its red background is not shoing up. can anyone tell me how to fix that?

    Thanks

    Replace style= in the code below to class=

    HTML Code:
    <td style="bars"><table style="navBtn" ........</td></table
    That should do it.

    that didnt change anything either, the background-image IS showing up but the table thats inside the <td> with the background image is supposed to have a red background color but the color does not show up it just also has the background image.

    here the page http://www.altoonadesign.com/no_flash.php when you see the white decorative bars on the right side there are some button that you can barely see because they have no background color to offset them.

    Thanks!

    You have an invalid colour name (missing the '#' character). Try
    Code:
    .navBtn{
    	background-color:#a35151;
    }
