Rotating content?

    Hi there,

I have some rotating content on my site, purely for advertising purposes and nothing to do with SEO. The rotating content includes an img,
and a
.
So eveytime a user accesses my site, the content is different.

This has led me to think; I know that Google likes pages with new content updated regularly; would my rotating content benefit me in any way and be regarded as fresh content by Google? Is there a threshold for the amount of content that Google deems having changed?

This is just a question I was wandering about

    Cheers

    James

Have you noticed a change of serps for your keyword/phrase(s) yet since you started doing this? Or did you always have it this way?

The site is only 2 months old, so don't have a PR yet. The rotating content has always been a part of my site since the start

It will definitely be regarded as fresh content... I don't see a negative side to what you are doing. There is no limit as far as I'm aware. Blogs and forums change content frequently and are not penalised for it.

He didn't ask about your PR, he asked about your rank. BTW, your content does not have anything to do with your PR.

PR is related to backlinks only. SERPs are related to content.

Lets say I have a 5 pages site and I rotate the content on the main page to display partial content of the other 4 pages. The Main page will have fresh content... but I will never get more than 5 pages indexed... so I think it all points to have fresh content... doesn't matter if it rotates or not... unless you use the rotation to drive people to the new content.

The purpose of having constantly refreshed content is to get spidered more frequently.

We have a feature on our site at the top right side of the page for client testimonials. These testimonials change upon page reload. This is a great place for refreshing text since these testimonials are also containing keywords of the products we sell. Since it's an inlcude file, all of the pages on our site look at though they are constantly fresh content.
