    I'm trying to make something like this

    The 'latest news' part of www.ustwo.co.uk.

    I dont necessarily need a backend etc. I just want to know how to make a similar type of structure. That is news title, when clicked opening into news, when clicked again, closing.

    Any help?

    accordian

    I think it's based on the prototype based "rico" javascript library. The effect is "accordion". http://openrico.org/rico/demos.page?demo=rico_accordion It switches CSS. eg.
    HTML Code:
    <div class="contents">
    				  <div class="arrow"><img src="http://www.ustwo.co.uk/wp-posts/arrow_closed.gif" onclick="switchMenu('post-75', 'image-75');" id="image-75"/></div>
    				  <div class="block">
    				    <div class="title" onclick="switchMenu('post-75', 'image-75');">
    				        What is UsTwo?				    </div>
    				    <div style="display:none;" class="entry" id="post-75">

    </p>
