    uk2.net dedicated servers?

    Hi all,

I felt I had to post this separately from my other dedicated server post, sorry mods if I'm flooding or anything ...

    I'm considering getting a uk2.net dedicated raq3 server.
    http://powerraq.com
They are extremely cheap (25/month, or about $40/month), and you get 10gb/month of bandwidth. However, their TOS is a bit iffy. Pls check it out and give your opinions.

Also, if you have had any personal experiences with uk2.net, could you please share them so I could get a feel for their service?

    Thank you very much.

it only has 64MB's of RAM, thats def not enough?
you should consider rackshack.net if you dont have enough money try spliting costs with someone?

I'm not sure what you need, but if you are just starting start with a virtual account and then move onto a raq or dedicated server if needed...

The reason those RAQa are so cheap is because they are really old machines and are extremely underspecced. I have heard loads of horrible things about this company.

Imagine they are vampires, grab your garlic and your crucifix and run right out into the daylight.

nicky : you are a big buffy / angel fan arent you?! (same here..I have BOTH the buffy and angel theme tunes on my phone..so there!)

FatPiper : go with rackshack.net - better systems, more bandwidth, but double cost. like Luqman said, split it with someone if you cant afford it. but it is very worth it.

25 it may be, but you have to pay for 3 years in advance, which is 900+VAT for something that has as much power as my mobile phones put together (No offence to anyone who owns or uses one, but compared to a decent x86 server they really are slow).

Save yourself; don't sign up. I've heard lots (and I really mean LOTS) of bad things about UK2.NET.

Customer support is supposed to be really bad there as well.
